KLFGC - Visit No. 2

I and my husband went in for my Day 12 checkup 2 days ago. I had to fast for my blood test. We reached the hospital at 9am. Around 9.15am, Nurse M called me in to draw my blood. One test was for Insulin and Vitamin D test. The other blood test was to check for my miscarriage cause. We were told the results for this test was only to be seen after 1 month. WOW. We asked the nurse why does it take so long. They told us that this blood samples need to be sent to Australia to be tested. That was new for us. Now we know why this test is rather expensive.

We went in to see Dr. Helena around 9.25am. She had my hormone test results with her. She said my results were good. Pheww....that was a relief. The only thing is that by right FSH count should be more than LH count. I had LH count slightly more than FSH count by 0.1 only. That explained my mild PCOS. Dr. said it was nothing to worry and it was good.

Dr. Helena did a vaginal scan to check my follicles. There was a follicle sized 1.4mm. She said I should be ovulating coming weekend. She asked us to try on our own this weekend. If my period comes next month, we will be starting IUI treatment. Dr. advised us to come in on Day 2 of my next period. We were given the copy of our result.

Total expenses :- RM 1430

Fasting Insulin Test      - RM 150
Vitamin D Test            - RM 300
Miscarriage Blood Test  - RM 820
Scanning/Ultrasound     - RM   80
Consultation                - RM  80

p/s - That's quite a sum for tests but we were OK as long as we get treated and we get to know the cause for the miscarriages. Feeling good about the upcoming treatments :). Positive feelings.
