IVF Preparation

Hi dear friends. I am most probably expected to start my IVF journey maybe somewhere in the middle of April. It just hit me few days ago that the days are getting closer and I have not met my goal yet. What I wanted to do before IVF starts?

1) Reduce some kilos. Exercise ...exercise....exercise
2) Acupuncture
3) Add CoQ10 vitamin to my entire vitamin intake till my IVF starts
4) Increase egg intake
5) Malay massage
6) Cupping

How close am I? Exercise now and then....Manage to reduce 1 kilo so far....Need to reduce at least 1 more kilo before IVF...Hopefully I will manage to do it...
Acupuncture. I have not managed to find any acupuncture centre nearby my area yet.
I read that CoQ10 vitamin helps to improve the egg quality. So I have decided to take it till my IVF treatment starts. I have started taking it today.
I have not really concentrated on the egg intake so much. I will try to increase my egg intake.
I will try to get a Malay massage if I go back to my mom's place.
Cupping? Yes I did it yesterday.  I will blog my experience below.

Yesterday my goal was either to find an acupuncture centre or a cupping centre. My husband and I went to 4 massage centers. None provided acupuncture services. Only one centre provided therapeutic cupping services. We went to the centre. No one was the reception. We waited there for some time....Then we started to shout' Hello ....Hello....’ Then came a lady from the massage room. We asked her about cupping. She could not understand us. She was from China. She was communicating in Chinese which we certainly could not understand. We asked for her boss...She was like ' Boss ah ....boss ah...boss ah...'...We just looked at her to finish her sentence...She never did....till her boss arrived....Pheww that was a relieve....

It was a young man. We asked him about the cupping session. He said it takes out the 'angin' in English probably the same as release toxins. Please refer this web site for more details on cupping.

I remember my ttc friend asking to inform them and tell it’s for fertility. I tried to explain in English....He just stared at me ...Then I explained in Malay. He still stared. My husband said never mind la....He doesn’t understand. So I just did not get my message across. The man said he is not sure as he is new to the place. I had so many questions to ask but I had to eliminate all the questions at once. I wanted to ask about the one that takes out the dirty blood then I just could not. My husband insisted me to get a 30 min body massage then the cupping session. I was told that the cupping session will take around 25 minutes. So he intended to get an hour massage session for him. So we could finish relatively the same time.

It was my first ever body massage session. I am very shy. Since I was doing cupping, I was like ok why not give it a try. It was a traditional Chinese oil massage....My masseuse was the Chinese lady which we met the first time. OH MY...I was wondering how my experience will be.....The young man suggested we get a massage next to each other just separate cubicle. We agreed. He told that to the lady in Chinese.....Suddenly the lady got so angry...She started to shout at him....I was standing just between them...Trapped between them shouting at each other......My husband was like ' Jangan gaduh.....jangan gaduh'(Don't fight....don't fight). I just do not know why they are fighting just know that it's somehow because of us.....The lady showed me my cubicle while scolding him at the same time. I was just thinking....What I am getting into. WAAAAAA.....

I got changed and waited nervously for the lady. Hoping that she won't hit me or anything like that. By that time, she had cooled off....She had a smile....That's good....She started the massage. And yes....it was so painful....I had my eyes open the widest as possible....No aircond was switched on since I will be doing cupping....I was sweating and in pain....I just kept quiet throughout....It was really painful....U know what I was thinking? I am actually paying to get whacked by an unknown person....Haha....While I was keeping it down, I heard my husband screamed in pain...Hehe....Then I know it is indeed a painful one. I was just waiting for the 30 minutes to be over soon.

And it was over...Pheww....the lady told me something in Chinese....I did not understand....I just said OK....not knowing what she said....She repeated herself.....I kept quiet....Then she pulled a towel underneath....Oh my....What a language barrier....She was getting ready for the cupping session. I just waited for the moment patiently enjoying that the painful moment was over. She started to light the fire. The first vacuumed cup went on my back....ARGGHHHHHH......

Oh my....My journey even got worst....The moment the cup sucked to the skin it was so painful....One by one went on....I was thinking it was going to finish....It was not..More and more went on...I wanted to count how many cups were on but the pain shocked me that I forgot to count.....After some time, the pain was bearable. The lady asked me to 'tunggu'(wait). I asked her how long should I wait in Malay...She said something in Chinese....I just manage to smile to myself....She left the room...I just waited thinking she would come fast enough. Wait and wait ....She arrived....She checked the cups....She told me 'Banyak angin'(A lot of toxins I think)....in the waist area and shoulder. She asked me to wait some more....I reminded myself to count the cups when she remove the cups...After approximately another 5 minutes, she started to take the cups one by one. I started to count....1....2.... there goes the 10 mark...then the 20 mark and 30 mark....Pheww that many...It was exactly 35 cups on my back.....She put it from my shoulder till just below the waist area....After she took it out, she checked on the marks from the cups....She said something in Chinese again...I just said ok although I did not understand a thing she said. She was touching the mark...I think she was saying something about it....She closed my back with a towel and lightly massaged the back...I assume it was to reduce the marks...She massaged my neck and I was done....Pheww what a relieve.....

I changed and waited for my husband. He arrived shortly after. We paid and went back home. Checked on my marks....WOW....that's a lot of marks....I was told not to take a bath yesterday and I can get a bath today....Luckily I had my bath before going to the centre. I have a slight pain yesterday and today still whenever I stretched my back. It will take a few days for the marks to go off....It is not advisable to do cupping if you are going for a vacation because of the marks.

Costing :-

1 hour traditional Chinese massage    - RM 55
1/2 hour traditional Chinese massage - RM 30
Therapeutic Cupping                         - RM 30

Total both 2 person - RM115

It is a long blog today....My experience with massage and cupping was certainly a memorable one....It shows how language is so important.

Dear friends, is traditional massage really that painful? How long does it take for the cupping scars to go off?

March cycle is over....

Yeah ....I got my period 12/3/2013. I have another month to try naturally. If it's positive, I will be the happiest person else I will continue my IVF on the April cycle. This month I just welcomed my period. I was too busy with my lil sister's wedding preparation to even take any rest.

My sister's wedding went well.  I was so happy that it went smooth. My lil sis is married now. I had a lot of the usual question at the wedding. One cousin suggested me to go to Dayang Bunting, Langkawi. Her sister got pregnant after going to the island. I just smiled as usual. Another aunty asked me if I got anything while showing my stomach. I said not yet. She was like, "Haiyooo....don't make me angry la....We are waiting rite??” I was so shocked....I just smiled as usual. But deep down as shocked as I was, I was thinking ....Why she must be angry with me...not that I do not want a child. I never did any family planning or anything like that. I am just not as lucky as her daughters. No need to use the word angry I think. But I just shock it off immediately. She was not so close us anyway. I do not waste my time being sad of her remarks though.

I came back to Raub yesterday. I was so happy to see a parcel from World Vision. I received my sponsored daughter’s details. This is a positive vibe that I am waiting for this month. I am eager to wait for her letter soon.  I hope her entrance in my life will be helpful somehow  for my ttc journey.

Let's sponsor a child....

Hi dear friends. Have you heard abound World Vision? I heard about it 2 days ago from my TTC group friend. She posted a drawing send by her sponsored daughter. It was so adorable and cute. I was so motivated to sponsor a child too. Immediately logged in to the website, just fill up some simple info and I am done. So simple.

I received an e-mail that the process will take 2 to 3 weeks to complete. Can't wait. So excited to connect with the child. There are so many children who are suffering to get good food and education. We are so lucky that we have all the basic needs. But there are many children who are suffering just to get any food at all. On the other hand, we are enjoying all the fast food, eating as much as we could till we can't take in more. Why not spend some money for a good deed? It's not much to sponsor for a month. For all the TTCians, this would be a good oppurtunity to share our love to a daughter or son soon. Hopefully it will fill our desire to have a child.

Let's hold our hands together and sponsor a child today. For those you wish to do something for some children who are really hoping they can get good food, water and education, please check out the World Vision website.
